My journey with AI coding began early last year. Upon discovering bolt.new, I immediately used Cursor to build out the production-ready backend needed to ship the project. First, I would sit with their security and infrastructure architects to map their data bounds: do they require local/air-gapped indexing, custom proxies, or dedicated VPC routing? I'd leverage my experience shipping HIPAA-compliant EHR pipelines and OIDC multi-tenant backbones to design a deployment plan that satisfies their CISO. Then, I'd run a scoped pilot with a single team: instrument baseline developer metrics (PR cycle times, DORA metrics) and LLM-specific operational metrics (latency, caching efficiency, token cost). We configure their custom context/repo rules, locate the staff-engineer champion whose workflow visibly improves, and back this with LLM observability tools to verify safety and cost limits. For prompt design, I use structured instructions, strict schemas (like JSON/TypeScript definitions), and examples.
